Help #TeamCoco fight T1D!
#TeamCoco is walking with Breakthrough T1D to end type 1 diabetes (T1D) for Cora and others who live with T1D. Cora was 19 months old when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She is now three years old and thriving. After lots of advocacy, we've found a supportive healthcare team who has worked with us to find creative solutions and technology to effectively manage Cora's blood sugar. This has allowed for Cora to live life without diabetes holding her back. This year she started swimming lessons and gymnastics, and this fall she'll be going back to daycare. Cora also loves playing with her two older siblings, Levi and Selah. She doesn't hold back when telling us how she feels about diabetes, and on hard days she's been known to exclaim, "diabetes is poopy!" She is tiny but mighty, and we are so proud of our type 1 princess.
This year we are focusing on a few fundraising efforts:
1) Shoe Drive Fundraiser: We are collecting pairs of gently worn, used, and new shoes that will be donated to Funds2Orgs, who then pay #TeamCoco based on the total weight of shoes collected. Funds2Orgs redistributes shoes to entrepreneurs across the globe to support their small businesses.
- To donate, check around your home for shoes that you have outgrown or are no longer your style.
- Shoes must be in pairs. We can accept all kinds of shoes! Sneakers, boots, dress shoes, sandals, athletic, casual, boots - we'll take them all!
- Once you've collected your shoes, please text or email Bethany at 812-870-8963 / bethanymariegarcia@gmail.com and we'll coordinate a time to pick-up your shoes.
2) T-Shirt Fundraiser: Nick has designed a fun 2024 #TeamCoco t-shirt. We've set up a fundraiser campaign through Bonfire. Shirts will be shipped directly to you and profits will go to #TeamCoco's Breakthrough T1D Walk fundraising goal.

3) Donating directly on #TeamCoco's Breakthrough T1D Walk page. No donation is too small. Every dollar you give will truly make a difference in our efforts to find a cure for T1D.
