Let's Make T1D History!
10 years of riding - $84, 296 raised. But this is all because of your help and support. I am once again participating in the JDRF Ride because I know that my fundraising and cycling efforts will help improve the lives of millions of people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
9 rides down, a 10th one is about to begin. Or at least training will begin. Like Marty McFly I am going both back to my past La Crosse where it all started, and pushing to the future for a cure. Consider a donation to support this cause. Maybe consider helping me cross my ultimate fundraising goal of hitting 100k raised in 10 rides. That's just over $15,000. It can be done, maybe be part of the amazing history of 9 rides and the future of a tenth, as I go Back to the Future or some weird tie in phrase that works.
Below is the standard boiler plate language for the why. But the reality is, type-1 is not always an easy illness to live with. Even with the advances we have seen in the past few years. All of this is just a stop gap until a cure is found. I hope that you will contribute as you always have, and help in funding that cure.
Type 1 diabetes is a serious autoimmune disease that impacts millions of people - its causes are not fully known, and currently, there is no cure. To manage their T1D, people regularly monitor their blood-sugar level, inject or infuse insulin through a pump, and carefully balance those doses with eating and daily activities to prevent uncomfortable, and even dangerous, side effects. Every single day.
JDRF is leading the fight against T1D by funding research, advocating for policies that accelerate access to new therapies, and providing a support network for millions of people around the world impacted by T1D. But they can’t do it without our support.
I’ve set my fundraising goal high and am counting on your help to get me there by Ride Day. No donation is too small and every dollar truly makes a difference.
Thank you for your support!
