As a constituent who cares about type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, I'm writing to share my deep appreciation for your leadership in securing the continued funding for the Special Diabetes Program (SDP) that was included in the year-end bill enacted by Congress.

As you know, the SDP has played a pivotal role in nearly every gamechanger in T1D research and daily management of the condition. In addition, it drives research toward cures, speeding up our path to the day when we can all walk away from this disease for good.

Your commitment to T1D research through the National Institutes of Health will ensure critical progress continues uninterrupted. And looking ahead, the T1D community understands that a strong, multi-year renewal of the SDP will bring us closer to our vision of a world without T1D.
