Logistics Leaders for T1D Cure in Vienna!

Adrian Gonzalez (Founder and Host of Talking Logistics) is joining his Logistics Leaders for T1D Cure Teammate David Shaw (Transporeon) in Vienna on September 17, 2024 to do an “epic” bike ride in the city and surrounding areas in support of Breakthrough T1D and its mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.

What do we mean by “epic”? We don’t know yet, but we will find out soon enough!

David and I rode together in London in September 2022 at the conclusion of the Transporeon Summit that year (the photo above is us at the top of Box Hill). This time, we will be riding before this year’s conference begins. A bit risky, perhaps, but we couldn’t think of a better way to get energized for all the great learning and networking ahead of us than by doing something we both enjoy in support of a good cause.

I started the Logistics Leaders for T1D Cure team in 2016, not long after my oldest daughter Hannah was diagnosed with T1D at age 11. I ride for Hannah and everyone living with the daily challenges of this disease, and I am honored to have teammates like David who ride beside me in support of finding a cure.

David and I have a goal of raising $5,000. That might sound like a lot, but the truth is that funding medical research to find a cure — and to develop new therapies and technologies to help ease the burden of living with T1D — is very expensive. Every donation matters, no matter the amount.

If you’re attending Transporeon Summit, we look forward to seeing you there and telling you about the ride in person. If you won’t be there, I will be sharing highlights and photos via Talking Logistics after the conference.

Thank you in advance for helping us “breakthrough” our fundraising goal. Together we will help create a world without type 1 diabetes!
