THE REASON I STRIVE FOR A world without type 1 diabetes
The beautiful girl pictured above is the most amazing, creative, happy, intelligent fourteen-year old I know. She can light up a room with her smile and her charisma. She brings passion and dedication to every thing she does, including school, piano, and soccer. She has a very mature soul for such a young adult, which probably has something to do with the challenges she faces every single day. You see, my daughter Brynlee has type 1 diabetes (T1D), or insulin-dependent diabetes. T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle.
My family, friends and I are participating in the Breakthrough T1D Walk to raise money that will help improve the lives of millions of people living with T1D. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure – yet. Your support can help change that.
By donating to Breakthrough T1D Walk today, you can help fund research that impacts the lives of the millions of children, adults, and families challenged by T1D every day. Together, we can create a world without T1D. Thank you.
My Miles Towards Mission
In support of the 1.45 million Americans living with T1D, I'm walking towards a world without T1D.
